Busy week...wrote The End and got a puppy...
Yes, it's been awhile, but I've been in the writing cave...and we got a puppy!
This week I made a lofty goal...finish the first draft of Last Call, the next book in my Love by the Bay series. Normally it wouldn't have been a lofty goal, but we also got a puppy last weekend!
I've never had a dog before and I clearly didn't think it through. I figured lots of people get puppies and they survived. Well, hats off to them, because puppies are like babies on crack! It's a good thing she's cute. Please meet Hazel Penelope, a lab/collie rescue mix, who is now a fan of biting everything. She's only ten weeks and I've never missed sleep this much!
But even with the new craziness, I was determined to finish Last Call and I typed THE END last night! I can't wait to share Lily and Adam's story with everyone this December. It's my favorite trope, little sister falls in love with her brother's best friend and I hope you love them as much as I do.
And now that the horrid rough draft is over, I've already started my edits. I LOVE edits...well, the first and second rounds. I think my humor shows up in edits. Like the jokes show up after I've left the room the first time.
Here's a little teaser from the prologue...
Tonight she was going to kiss Adam Byrne whether he wanted it or not. Not that she planned to tie him down, but if he knew what was good for him, he wouldn’t fight it. Lily’s cheeks heated at that thought and she took another sip of liquid courage. Actually it was lukewarm light beer. Liquid courage should taste better than this. She could do this. Gird her loins and all that shit and walk over to the guy she’d loved since her older brother had brought him home with him when she was eight. For ten years she’d watched him. Hell, that sounded creepy.
Stay tuned for additional snippets in the next few months and clear up your eReaders for Lily and Adam in mid December.
